About these HSK 1 stories

HSK 1 is the first shelf of graded Mandarin on taihaa. The stories stay inside a beginner list: greetings, family, school, food, weather, and the hours of an ordinary Monday. You open one lesson and tap any character you do not know yet. Pinyin and a short translation sit on that word, then you continue the line. The opening lesson is a school morning. Later ones move through a small restaurant, a shop, a phone call, and a taxi to the station, so the same few words return in a new place. Audio reads the sentence while the current word is highlighted, which lets you hear the tone without leaving the page. Save a word only when it actually stopped you. The saved card keeps the sentence, and review brings that sentence back the next day. There is no separate list to memorise before you are allowed to read. The story is the lesson.
