A quick guide to the main taihaa workflow.
1. Choose a target language
Use the language selector in the navigation bar. This controls which lessons, vocabulary, and reviews you see across the app. English is currently the only fully supported base language for the v2.0 public beta.
2. Create or import a lesson
Go to New Lesson. You can paste text manually, import a plain .txt file, use a sample lesson, or try URL article import. URL import works best with public article pages. If a page is blocked, paywalled, login-only, too short, or not article-like, copy and paste the text manually instead.
3. Review imported text before saving
Imported text is automatically extracted and may not be perfect. Check the title, source URL, and lesson content before saving. You can edit imported content just like manually pasted text.
4. Read and save words
Open a lesson and click a word or character while reading. Add or suggest a translation, then choose a status such as Known, Learning, or Ignore. The reader supports pagination, display preferences, progress saving, and text-to-speech where your browser supports it.
5. Use translation suggestions carefully
Suggestions may come from your own saved vocabulary or from the shared dictionary built from manual user translations. They are meant to speed up learning, but they may be incomplete or wrong. Always edit the translation before saving if needed.
6. Review due words
Use Review to practice words that are due. Again brings a word back later today. Learning keeps the interval short. Known and Easy schedule words further into the future. Ignore removes a word from future reviews.
7. Manage vocabulary
Use Vocabulary to search, filter, sort, edit translations, view review details, fix missing translations, use text-to-speech, and export saved words. Vocabulary is filtered by your selected target language.
8. Export or delete your data
Vocabulary, lessons, and full account data can be exported from the app. Account deletion is available from Settings. taihaa shows a deletion summary and asks for export confirmation before permanent deletion.
