Privacy
A simple overview of what taihaa stores during the beta.
Account and preferences
taihaa stores your account email, profile settings, target language, base language setting, reader preferences, onboarding progress, and basic app preferences. English is currently the only fully supported base language for the v2.0 public beta.
Lessons, imports, and vocabulary
taihaa stores lessons you create or import, lesson source information, normalized source URLs, source domains, saved vocabulary, translations, context sentences, review status, review counts, reading progress, and review history. This data is linked to your account. Other normal users cannot see your lessons or saved words.
URL import
When you use URL import, taihaa fetches the submitted URL from the server to try to extract the page title, canonical URL, source domain, and readable article text. taihaa stores import attempt information such as status, failure reason, content length, source domain, and whether the import was accepted or rejected. taihaa does not handle login-only or paywalled pages in this beta version.
Dictionary and translation suggestions
When you save a manual translation, taihaa may store it in a shared dictionary table as a user-created translation suggestion. This helps future translation suggestions improve. Suggestions are not treated as official translations and may be edited before saving.
Text-to-speech
Text-to-speech currently uses your browser or device speech synthesis. No separate audio file is stored by taihaa when you use the Speak button. Voice availability depends on your browser and operating system.
Feedback and support
Feedback submitted through the app may include your message, selected category, page URL, account ID, target language, browser details, optional contact note, ticket status, last updated time, and internal admin notes. This is used to handle bugs, support requests, and beta improvements. You can see your own submitted support tickets and their status in the app.
Analytics and error logs
taihaa stores basic in-app events such as lesson creation, reader opening, word saving, reviews, exports, imports, import acceptance/rejection, and feedback submission. Error logs may store technical details such as the error message, source, page URL, severity, reviewed status, admin notes, and related metadata. These logs are used to monitor the beta and fix problems.
Admin access
taihaa admins can view operational data needed to run the beta, including support tickets, import attempts, app events, user activity summaries, and error logs. This is used for support, debugging, safety, and product improvement.
Exports
You can export vocabulary, lessons, and full account data from the app. Export files are generated for you in the browser and should be stored carefully after download.
Payments
taihaa does not currently process payments or store payment details.
Account deletion
Account deletion is available from Settings. taihaa shows a pre-deletion summary, asks you to confirm that exports should be saved first, and requires typed DELETE confirmation. After confirmation, taihaa deletes the account and linked app data. This action is intended to be permanent.
Beta limitations
taihaa is still under active development. Privacy wording and product behavior may be updated as the app moves closer to a wider public release.
