About these N5 stories
JLPT N5 reading on taihaa is five short stories in ordinary polite Japanese. Breakfast, a family introduction, a convenience-store lunch, a room, and a rainy day. Furigana sits with the kanji so you can read the line even when you have only just met the character. Tap the word if you want the translation. Do not tap every particle. は, が, に, and を are worth noticing in the sentence, and they are a poor use of a review card. Save the nouns and verbs that you could not say yourself. Audio plays the sentence with a highlight on the current word, which is the fastest way to check whether your reading of a kanji matched the pitch you hear. The stories use the same small cast of daily objects so a word from breakfast can show up again when someone describes a room. When N5 feels slow for the wrong reason, the reader still accepts a page you paste in yourself. This shelf is only the first five that are already graded.
